River Update - Ok! Here is the new update on water levels. Right now we are getting rain periodically in the Big Bend, but most important is the rain in Northern Mexico! This has the river moving up and down and we expect that to continue through mid-October. You should still plan on being in canoes, but rafts become a "possibility" during this time period, so give us a call or email us if you have questions about flows. Which canyon? Hard to say, but we'll make fun day out of it either way. By the way, our half days are an option, but you can't do Santa Elena Canyon or any canyon in less than a full day.
Our half-day river schedule is very tight in October, so we have discontinued online bookings for the month. Give us a call at 432-371-2633 and we'll book your trip over the phone.
Enjoy Far Flung's four hour adventure tour on the Rio Grande and still have time in the day for other activities! For example, many of our summer guests take a morning float and are back by lunch to avoid the afternoon heat. Or, like our spring and winter guests, they sleep in, have a leisurely breakfast and enjoy the half-day float during the warmest part of the day.
For those with younger children (under 8), our half-day adventure is just right - not too long, not too short and our guides will entrall them with stories of the wild outdoors!
