Thank you for a wonderful stay! The casita is so beautiful and comfortable. The grill area was a great place for our group of 8 to meet to eat. The campfire was delightful as well. We loved our canoe/kayak trip through Dark Canyon. The guides were awesome! We will be back!!!

About the vehicle
We use Jeep YJ Wranglers for all our 3-hour tours that have been specially designed for Far Flung. These “safari-style” vehicles have covered tops to protect against the sun and open sides for great viewing and picture taking.
Discover The Mining Ghost Town of Big Bend!
On this Jeep tour you’ll discover how the natural history of Big Bend is intertwined with the area’s human history. We’ll take a trip back in time to about 100 years ago when rugged explorers discovered the area was full of quicksilver. As the mine’s success grew, so did a small town surrounding it – complete with a general store, church, school, and plenty of housing. We’ll explore the area and the Good Luck mine- whose once-apt name serves as a reminder of a time gone-by. Today any dreams of fortune have all but vanished, leaving behind an eerie little ghost town in the most backwater place you can imagine!
Throughout the tour, your guide will also point out ancient geological formations, medicinal plants and other Big Bend points of interest, so be prepared for a trip full of new knowledge, human history, and outstanding natural beauty.

What about the bathroom?

Should I tip the guide?
Many guests ask us whether tipping the guides is appropriate. If you believe the guide exceeded your service expectations, please feel free to leave a tip (10-15% of the trip price is normal). Tipping is by no means required.
What's your cancellation policy?
Jeep tours require a 20% non-refundable deposit with the balance due 5 days prior to the date of the trip. Cancellations 5 days prior to departure forfeit the deposit amount. Cancellations (including no-shows) within 5 days of the trip departure forfeit the entire cost of the trip.
It is rare that Far Flung will cancel a tour, but in the event we do, all money (including deposits) will be refunded.
Will I be required to sign a waiver?
Trip participants must understand and appreciate that riding in an off road vehicle involves some risk. These risks include, but are not limited to 1) forces of nature, including extreme heat, cold, hail, rain and lightning 2) possible roll-over or loss of control of a Jeep driven by others related to excessive speed, rough, steep or narrow trails and collisions with other vehicles, boulders, vegetation, wild animals, livestock or other man-made or natural objects 3) accident or illness without access to immediate evacuation or availability of medical supplies and the inadequacy of medical attention once provided.
All participants will be required to sign a waiver before partaking in any Far Flung activity and must agree to abide by all rules related to off road safety as outlined by Far Flung Outdoor Center and/or its guide staff.
Highly recommend. Half day jeep tour day 1 and full day float day 2 (Santa Helena.) Everybody was VERY friendly, and spending time with them, it is obvious the ALL love their job. We will have a great time with folk like that.
This jeep tour was amazing. Our guide “Randy” was “The Best”. Very knowledgeable and easy going.
I would love to return to the area just to stay there again. We also took one of the Jeep tours. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, made the eight hour tour very enjoyable. We were served a nice lunch on the tour.
