I would love to return to the area just to stay there again. We also took one of the Jeep tours. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, made the eight hour tour very enjoyable. We were served a nice lunch on the tour.

About the vehicle
We use Jeep YJ Wranglers for all our 3-hour tours that have been specially designed for Far Flung. These “safari-style” vehicles have covered tops to protect against the sun and open sides for great viewing and picture taking.
Experience Iconic Big Bend Views First Hand
The Camp 360 Jeep tour is easily our most popular 3 hour tour, and for good reason! It delivers some of the best views in Big Bend; we’re talking full panoramic, 360° vistas – hence the name Camp 360! The tour has stood the test of time wowing countless visitors since 1998; think of it as a fun, educational, and incredibly scenic road trip suitable for all ages. A naturalist guide will accompany you throughout, pointing out unique desert fauna and ancient geological formations along the way. They’ll also take you on some short, easy walks to get a closer look at some special Big Bend points of interest. We’ll pack plenty of iced water to keep to cool and hydrated and use covered tops on our Jeeps to keep you shaded – just make sure you remember to bring your camera to capture those awesome desert views!
Please Note: This tour does NOT travel into Big Bend National Park. Big Bend is a vast area of West Texas encompassing over a million acres – some of which is in the national park and some which is not. This tour travels on lands adjacent to the national park.

What about the bathroom?
Because the trip will take us through primitive areas of Big Bend, bathroom facilities are limited. Our guides will carry a basic toilet system, but your choice of restroom will be bushes or large rocks! You will have access to the Far Flung Outdoor Center restrooms before and after the trip.
Should I tip the guide?
Many guests ask us whether tipping the guides is appropriate. If you believe the guide exceeded your service expectations, please feel free to leave a tip (10-15% of the trip price is normal). Tipping is by no means required.
What's your cancellation policy?
Jeep tours require a 20% non-refundable deposit with the balance due 5 days prior to the date of the trip. Cancellations 5 days prior to departure forfeit the deposit amount. Cancellations (including no-shows) within 5 days of the trip departure forfeit the entire cost of the trip.
It is rare that Far Flung will cancel a tour, but in the event we do, all money (including deposits) will be refunded.
Will I be required to sign a waiver?
Trip participants must understand and appreciate that riding in an off road vehicle involves some risk. These risks include, but are not limited to:
- Forces of nature, including extreme heat, cold, hail, rain, and lightning
- Possible roll-over or loss of control of a Jeep driven by others related to excessive speed, rough, steep, or narrow trails, and collisions with other vehicles, boulders, vegetation, wild animals, livestock, or other man-made or natural objects
- Accident or illness without access to immediate evacuation or availability of medical supplies and the inadequacy of medical attention once provided
All participants will be required to sign a waiver before partaking in any Far Flung activity and must agree to abide by all rules related to off-road safety as outlined by Far Flung Outdoor Center and/or its guide staff.
Highly recommend. Half day jeep tour day 1 and full day float day 2 (Santa Helena.) Everybody was VERY friendly, and spending time with them, it is obvious the ALL love their job. We will have a great time with folk like that.
This was the best part of my time in Big Bend
I cannot recommend this enough, and I cannot say enough positive things about the guide who showed us the area. It was an amazing experience. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area and tailored the experience to our interests.
