We are located on Farm Road 170 about a half mile west of the intersection of Highway 118 and Farm Road 170. We are on the left hand (south) side of FM 170 as you travel towards the Terlingua ghost-town and Lajitas. Our office facilities are in a tan metal building with red trim. Far Flung has been on the river almost every day for over 30 years, and we don’t see the “violence” often shown in the news or movies. It’s been argued that Big Bend is the safest stretch of the southern border and our experiences have reflected that.

Our community is well protected by law enforcement, including Park Rangers, Border Patrol, Brewster County Sheriff’s officers, and Homeland Security.

We are open everyday of the year!

Yes, there is, however, we are in a rural area where some signal may be limited or Wi-Fi may be required.

We do. Our cafe opened a couple of years back and our coffee and muffins have since got everyone talking. Come down and try them for yourself!

We don’t have an online shop – all sales/purchases are made in our on-site store. Get down to the Far Flung Outdoor Center, experience the place, and get the t-shirt to prove it.
