Take The River Road For Extreme Level Adventure

The Camino Del Rio Jeep tour is perfect for all the rugged explores in search of their next Big Bend adventure fix! We’ll follow one of the extraordinary river roads that winds along the southern portion of the National Park for about 50 miles. Not for the faint-hearted, this trail is rough, dusty, and remote – classic Big Bend!

The reward for grabbing this adventure with both hands is a truly out-there experience surrounded in natural silence, immersed in vast, open spaces, and brimming with countless stunning vistas and landscapes! It’s not all rough and ready though; for lunch, we’ll put on a classic Far Flung spread complete with a sandwich bar, chips, homemade salsa, cookies, and plenty of iced water and lemonade to keep you hydrated. We’ll travel in accordance with the season to keep the sun off our faces and have covered tops on our Jeeps to keep everyone in the shade.

Inclusions

*Our lunches vary based on current supplies, but expect a smorgasbord of picnic foods such as deli meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, dips, chips, pickles, and cookies. Iced water will be available during the trip with tea and lemonade available at lunch. Because of our remote location, specialty foods are more difficult to obtain. Should you have a specific dietary requirement, please notify our office at least 48 hours prior to the departure date.

What to bring

Because the trip will take us through primitive areas of Big Bend, bathroom facilities are limited. Our guides will carry a basic toilet system, but your choice of restroom will be bushes or large rocks! You will have access to the Far Flung Outdoor Center restrooms before and after the trip.

Should I tip the guide?

(+)

Many guests ask us whether tipping the guides is appropriate. If you believe the guide exceeded your service expectations, please feel free to leave a tip (10-15% of the trip price is normal). Tipping is by no means required.

What's your cancellation policy?

Jeep tours have a $10/person non-refundable deposit requirement with the balance due 48 hours prior to the trip departure date. Cancellations outside of 48 hours from departure forfeit the deposit amount. Cancellations (including no-shows) within 48 hours of the trip departure forfeit the entire cost of the trip. It is rare that Far Flung will cancel a tour, but in the event we do, all money (including deposits) will be refunded.

Will I be required to sign a waiver?

(+)

Trip participants must understand and appreciate that riding in an off road vehicle involves some risk. These risks include, but are not limited to:

  1. Forces of nature, including extreme heat, cold, hail, rain, and lightning
  2. Possible roll-over or loss of control of a Jeep driven by others related to excessive speed, rough, steep, or narrow trails and collisions with other vehicles, boulders, vegetation, wild animals, livestock, or other man-made or natural objects
