# 1 – The best guides and trip leaders – without great people you can’t do great things.  For over 35 years we’ve worked hard to find guides and leaders who truly enjoy being outdoors.  Even more so, they enjoy and relish the opportunity to show our guests the natural beauty of Big Bend.  Whether it’s wilderness medicine, (all of our guide staff must complete a minimum of a 40 hour training program in wilderness first aid), running boats, leading hikes, coordinating trip logistics, talking about Big Bend or just having fun, the Far Flung staff are the best of the best at what they do.

# 2 – Reservation staff that go the “extra mile” – when you call our office, don’t expect robots and canned speeches.  If you don’t get Greg or Valynda (the owners) by the third ring, please know they are in the background ready to help with any question you might have about your planned adventure to Big Bend.  We don’t just talk about what Far Flung does -we’ll help you plan your trip from start to finish and give you some insider ideas on how best to see the Big Bend.

# 3 – Great equipment – one of our pet peeves is broken down equipment. We have three full-time employees – Jesse Lujan, Tim Relleva and Daniel Orona- that spend their waking hours keeping the gear and vehicles running. From van air conditioning that works, to modern, up to date equipment, we believe you’ll appreciate our dedication to quality gear. It might be a little dusty (after all, we’re in the desert!), but, by golly, it will work!

# 4 – One Stop Adventure Shop – we started this business as a river company and today we remain the leading outfitter in Big Bend for multi-day river adventures.  Over the years, we’ve added a number of other activities – Jeep tours, ATV tours, step on guide service – and in 2010 we added lodging.  With one phone call you can book not only your activity but your room!  We’re also more than happy to extend activity discounts to our lodging guests.
